After the end of the Nations League, all eyes immediately turned towards next summer when international football once again takes centre stage with the beginning of Euro 2020.

The Manchester United legend added that a Wembley final will act as a huge incentive for the Three Lions, and referred back to the country’s performances at Euro 96 – the last time a major international tournament was held here.
He said (via the Evening Standard): “Wembley is a huge incentive for England. I was there in 1996 (for the group games) against Scotland and Holland and it was almost like the ball was being sucked into the net. You’d like to think being at Wembley, if we can get to the late stages, that atmosphere will be created. That will be a massive bonus for us.”
Having finished in third in the Nations League following a win over Switzerland on penalties, Gareth Southgate’s side will be hoping to do better next summer.
