Greenwood ended a four-game goal drought in mid-October and has not looked back. Through eight appearances through to the end of the calendar year, he found the target on five occasions. He has since taken his tally for the campaign as a whole to 12 in all competitions.
DID YOU KNOW?
Two of Greenwood’s efforts were registered in December, with the first being a nerveless last-minute penalty in a 2-1 win over Monaco. He also hit the net in a 2-0 victory at Saint-Etienne. He has fended off competition from Lille’s Canadian striker Jonathan David and Lyon’s highly-rated midfielder Rayan Cherki to be named Player of the Month.
WHAT NEXT?
Greenwood has become a talismanic presence for Marseille on the back of his £27 million ($33m) transfer from Old Trafford in the summer of 2024. His price tag is said to be on the rise, with leading clubs from across Europe – including La Liga giants Barcelona – reportedly keeping a close eye on his development.
