Arsenal have been linked a number of players who can operate from the left side of attack. Rodrygo, Anthony Gordon and Eberechi Eze have all been suggested as targets. If they were to sign the Crystal Palace man, it would represent a thumb in the eye to their north London rivals, as Spurs have long been linked with the 27-year-old. Romano reports a move for Madueke would not preclude the Gunners from pulling the trigger on a bid for Eze.

Chelsea have added to the glut of wingers and attacking midfielders already at their disposal, signing Joao Pedro from Brighton for £60m and welcoming Estevao from Palmeiras after signing the wonderkid last summer.

Madueke was a key part of Enzo Maresca's side last term, making 44 appearances in all competitions. However, with a logjam of players fighting for the two spots either side of Nicolas Jackson or Liam Delap, a move to the Emirates will look appealing. He will need to keep his attention on Chelsea duty for the time being, as the Blues continue their Club World Cup campaign with a quarter-final tie against Estevao's Palmeiras in the early hours of Friday morning.
