Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react to Millwall manager Neil Harris’ comments that his side’s trip to Elland road on March 30 is the London club’s “biggest game of the season by far.”
The Lions came within seconds of reaching an FA Cup semi-final on Sunday, with David Martin’s injury-time error and Shane Ferguson’s late red card helping Brighton progress at their expense.
Yet despite just missing the opportunity to book a date at Wembley in the competition’s last four, Harris claims that the league clash with Leeds is much more significant.
The Lions currently lie 20th in the Championship table and are just one point off the relegation zone with nine games to play.
The game holds real significance for Leeds as well, following their defeat at home to promotion-rivals Sheffield United on Saturday.
But regardless of the teams’ whereabouts in the league, the two clubs have a history of fierce rivalry; particularly in recent times.
Many Leeds fans have dismissed Harris’s remarks, with mind games likely to play a part in a significant encounter at Elland Road. See some of their thoughts here…
