Tottenham Hotspur will play Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund in the knockout stages of the Champions League following the draw on Monday, and Spurs fans were quick to react to some of the potential match-ups on the pitch.
The German giants may not have been at their best in recent years, but they look to be getting there again this term after finishing top of Group A – above Atletico Madrid – in the previous round, as well as lying nine points clear and still being unbeaten in the top flight domestically.
England youngster Jadon Sancho has been one of the stars of 2018/19 with six goals and 11 assists in 22 appearances in all competitions, as per Transfermarkt, and while he can play on either flank the electric attacker has largely operated from the right wing.
Their north London opponents next year are in good form themselves though, and will still fancy their chances of advancing to the quarter-finals over two legs if they have all of their key men to call upon, which could include left-back Ben Davies even if Danny Rose got the nod over him at the Camp Nou last week.
Tottenham supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the prospect of Ben Davies coming up against Sancho, and while one said “dreading Sancho vs Davies”, another said “Sancho is going to roast Davies alive”.
